Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress singer and dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway role, she was the role of Essie Carmichael in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh, Tony Award-winning actress as well as director, has spent the bulk of her professional career working with famous directors and actors both on screen and in television. Ashford's upcoming project is an exclusive Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford's current film will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. It will also be available on Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford returns to Broadway in March 2023, in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the musical. Ashford's most recent part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the nationwide scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp. The two-season run she had on the CBS show B Positive was her first significant part. She also appeared in the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford is from the city of Denver origins native, and now splits her time between Los Angeles.
